Ratings may be justified
The very bad ratings may be true, I dont know, but my experience of the local shop is that tagging just does not work and they do not know the usefulness of a potential donation. Volunteer shop staff will just not know as outwith their personal experience.

Shockingly high priced products
The prices were absolutely disgusting, they call themselves a charity shop?!
They're a complete joke.
I will never donate and never set foot in one again.
Excellent purchases delivered quickly
I have twice recently bought a pile of stuff from Oxfam online in their sales. I bought 10 items the first time and paid just £3.65 for the total postage, although the items came from different shops at different times. Many of the items were new and all excellent bargains. I bought myself a superb bag. My only worry is how are they making a profit? The good thing is the recycling. Prom and occasion dresses are real bargains.

Appalling
I bought a vinyl record for £10. It arrived reeking of mould. The mould had damaged all three records inside the album. It was obvious that nobody cared about the quality of goods sold by Oxfam. I don't mind giving money to charity but I do mind when a charity sells unusable goods.

Terrible charity
I purchased a scarf, the wrong one was delivered so I returned it. A few days later another one turned up even though I had said I wanted a refund. I returned this one and now nothing. Whilst I appreciate you are a charity, I choose where I want to donate, I don't expect my money to be stolen instead!!!! And we wonder why your Fat Cats keep getting fatter!!!

Five star service with extra.
I ordered five books that were advertised as in good condition, the books that arrived were in excellent condition and looked brand new. The books arrived earlier than expected and were well packaged. My order also came with a surprise of two chocolates, these made me smile and really made my day. I would definitely recommend this site and will be a returning customer myself.

Mombasa market
I would like to know why I saw with my own eyes a oxfam charity stall in Kenya selling clothes to poor people? I've noticed over the years that Oxfam is not the charity it once was. I just saw the price of clothes online and it's a absolute joke..genuine charity does not know greed..

Unfortunately 1 star is the lowest I can go as I feel that they do not even deserve that. Still waiting for Christmas gifts to arrive as ordered for Christmas for children to give as gifts of kindness. I have suggested that Oxfam try to explain to a child where there money has gone to support other prople. No response. No surprise. Last year we donated to Salvation Army instead. fast response, friendly service and we got to feel like our money was actually going somewhere. I note that no onefrom Oxfam has repsonded to negative reviews for over 12 months. Says it all really doesnt it?

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I am still waiting for an order that I placed on 6th December. The total amount was debited from my account the following day. Despite 2 emails and 3 calls to their customer services dept I have no idea if or when I will receive my order. Avoid.

Updated my poor review after progress with their back office. Kev very helpful once email reply. And Craig has processed a refund.Ordered
Ordered several gift cards for feed the world type causes from the online store. Christmas present
Little did I know what a long drawn out process this then becomes, with claims the cards have to come from various high street shops.
No sign after seven days of the cards, just 3 Royal Mail emails relating to a gift of a bar of chocolate, which was not needed. That duly arrived but no nearer hearing about the several charity gift cards.

Is this an organisation that has lost sight of it's origins?
As someone who has supported the work of Oxfam for many years I'm saddened by how the organisation has changed. My husband who is nearly 70yrs and has terminal cancer made the effort to take some items into the local shop. He was looking really ill, on chemo, no hair, yellow complexion. A member of the shop team yelled at him across the shop to say they didn't want any donations, couldn't he read the sign in the window!! Extremely rude and offensive! Anyway, Age UK gladly took the items!
I'm disabled and housebound, ordered a set of tumblers online, arrived with broken glasses. Had no help to return them. No refund. We're pensioners who can't afford to chuck money away!
The dubious statements coming out of the organisation these days are concerning too.

If only I'd known how useless their customer service is.
For an organisation such as this one, you'd think a refund for returned items (sourced by Oxfam) wouldn't take that long. It has so far taken 4 weeks. I've now resorted to a PayPal dispute which they've told me I must remove to make the refund process quicker... Erm no!
Ridiculous company. Never again.
Review Bombing
Hey, I just want to say to all the people review bombing Oxfam right now - what?? Are you guys okay? They're an anti-poverty charity, yet you're getting upset with them being involved in politics, do you know how ridiculous that is? Poverty and politics are extremely intimately connected issues that cannot be separated.
Critical Race Theory has nothing to do with being anti-white, rather it is simply taking a critical look at the way race and racism play in to law and government. Grow up, Oxfam do some great work yet you're all having tantrums over their support of an academic theory that you know absolutely nothing about more than media fearmongering.
